The recent updates have made me so much more fond of Jake, what a sweet and pleasantly simple old-timey goofball who cares for and supports his friends in the most uncomplicated and straightforward fashion while everyone else is pretty terrible with being able to express their feelings and being manipulative/secretive/distrustful when they’re interacting and trying to take care of each other.
Now I can see why he’s at the center of this storm of romance for these kids.

jake is definitely the kid i find least interesting even now but now i totally understand why they all crush on him. he’s just…so open! so sweet and kind and nice and jovial.
he’s going to get killed off horribly isnt he
banking on what kills him eventually is what turns an alt timeline version of him (if it happens) into lord english
i don’t even know man i’m just throwing out theories here, but it’s gotta happen somehow right
